Job Title: Weight Room Attendant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and professional Weight Room Attendant to join our team at the Abbotsford Recreation Centre and Matsqui Recreation Centre. As a Weight Room Attendant, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for participants, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision and instruction to patrons in the fitness centers.
- Orientate new patrons to the weight room, teaching them how to use equipment and review rules.
- Ensure all patrons are using equipment safely and properly.
- Enforce general rules of conduct and treat injuries.
- Open and close the fitness center, ensuring it is safe for operations.
- Secure the fitness center at the end of the day and perform daily cleaning tasks.
- Check and report any equipment that may need repairs.
- Provide high-quality customer service and maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
Requirements:
- Current BCRPA Fitness Theory Certification & Weight Room Certification or equivalent.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Current Standard First Aid, CPR 'C' & AED certification.
- Ability to apply theory-based knowledge in anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge of fitness equipment and machines.
- Ability to maintain kind and professional relationships with patrons and fellow staff members.
Working Conditions:
This is a term contract opportunity requiring a satisfactory criminal record check. The applicant/incumbent will be required to undergo a criminal record check in order to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment in this position.
Hourly Rate: $20.90 per hour.
