Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and assisting with various cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Interventional Cardiologist with cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures, including coronary angiograms, PTCA/CAS, RHC/LHC, shunt calculations, and aortic and mitral valve insertions.
  • Provide patient care and support during procedures, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications as required.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest procedures and technologies.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, promoting a culture of excellence and patient-centered care.
Requirements
  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
  • Minimum two years' recent nursing experience, preferably in ICU or Adult Emergency Room.
  • Successful completion of the Critical Care Nursing Orientation Program (CCNOP) theory and lab skills.
  • Recent experience caring for acute patients in a clinical setting.
  • Prior experience using Mac Lab or related software is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Assessment course or equivalent education.
  • Knowledge of College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses.
  • Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses.
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
