Key Responsibilities:
- Course Development: Engage in the design and enhancement of course materials, collaborating with faculty, industry advisors, and students to define learning outcomes and validate educational approaches.
- Instructional Duties: Deliver scheduled classes across various terms, ensuring clarity in learning objectives and assessment methods. Provide academic support and guidance to students, fostering a conducive learning environment.
- Academic Leadership: Offer mentorship to students and colleagues, participate in scholarly activities, and contribute to program accreditation efforts. Stay informed about advancements in the field and integrate innovative teaching practices.
Qualifications:
- A graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Science, or a related discipline is essential. A Doctorate is advantageous.
- At least two years of teaching experience in a postsecondary context, alongside a minimum of five years of relevant practical experience.
- Professional Engineer designation in a Canadian jurisdiction is required.
- Proven expertise in student success strategies and educational technologies, with experience in hybrid and online course delivery being a plus.
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills are essential.
- A demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development in teaching and curriculum design.
