Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Director of Client Operations, your key responsibilities will encompass:
- Overseeing a team of fund accountants tasked with client deliverables, including NAV production, financial statements, and related reports;
- Ensuring your team is well-trained, motivated, and operates efficiently to meet organizational objectives.
- Collaborating with investment managers, brokers, and auditors to address daily operational challenges;
- Coordinating with other departments, such as Investor Operations, finance, regulatory reporting, and banking to guarantee all deliverables are fulfilled.
- Engaging in various system enhancement projects, both global and local, while identifying and implementing efficiency improvements.
- Maintaining the accuracy of client deliverables produced by your team while adhering to service level agreement timelines.
- Managing the audit process, preparing financial statements, or reviewing those prepared by external parties.
- Ensuring all operations comply with established controls as outlined in SOC1 and that all relevant checklists are completed.
- Guaranteeing timely billing and collection of fees for your assigned team.
- Participating in diverse system projects and contributing innovative ideas for future process or technological advancements.
- Performing any additional ad-hoc tasks as required by clients, the organization, or team members.
Qualifications
- A post-secondary education or University Degree with a focus on finance or accounting.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in the fund administration sector, including at least 2 years in a Private Equity role, with experience managing staff. This may include roles with other administrators, investment managers, or fund auditors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- A comprehensive understanding of the fund administration industry, including various fund structures, fee calculations, financial instruments, and fund offering documentation review.
- At least 1 year of experience with fund accounting software; familiarity with Investran is a plus.
