Job Title: Awake Overnight Youth Support Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our team at ExCel Discovery. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for our youth residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to residents through a trauma-informed care perspective.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the well-being and safety of our youth.
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of government, justice, and daily paperwork.
  • Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including bed checks, to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.
  • Maintain regular house expectations, including meal preparation, cleaning, and sanitizing.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and additional training as required.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Criminal Justice or Human Services related field.
  • 1-2 years of youth justice, child and youth care, social work, or human services experience is considered an asset.
  • New graduates will be considered.
  • Knowledge of experiential learning, strength-based practice, and trauma-informed care.
