About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer to join our Development team at Payworks. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and efficient software applications for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement high-quality software solutions, working closely with our Product team to bring larger requirements to life.
  • Collaborate with our Development team to resolve defects, enhance the user experience, and maintain existing functionality.
  • Provide informal guidance and mentorship to junior developers on best practices, debugging, and testing issues.
  • Review code and provide feedback to other developers on code quality, coding standards, and implementation decisions.
  • Participate in technical architecture discussions to determine the best approach for building and maintaining our software applications.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ~5+ years of experience as a Software Developer or in a similar position.
  • Proven experience with coding solutions in modern procedural languages such as C#, Java, or C++.
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic SQL queries, with experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL Queries an asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft.NET Core (C#), Microsoft.NET (VB), ASP.NET, and Git source control an asset.
  • Ability to execute high-level coding assignments with minimal supervision and define high-level solutions for junior team members.
