Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Financial Services team at the Greater Essex County District School Board. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in assisting with complex problem resolution, ad-hoc reporting, and financial forecasting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in carrying out statutory duties as set out in the Ontario Education Act, pertinent legislation, and Board policies.
  • Participate in the implementation of department goals, budgets, and programs.
  • Develop and maintain management reporting, including financial forecasting and analysis.
  • Support the internal audit function and analyze financial data to create financial models for decision support.
  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with budget.
  • Identify and drive process improvements, including the implementation and integration of new financial system processes.
Requirements
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Strong analytical and data gathering skills.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical competency.
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to identify, resolve, and/or escalate issues using good professional judgment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
