POSITION SUMMARY
At Amazon, our mission is to be the most customer-focused organization globally. To achieve this, we require exceptionally skilled, intelligent, and motivated individuals. If you aspire to contribute to the evolution of online shopping, this is your opportunity to make a significant impact.
As a Procurement Operations Lead within the Amazon Fulfillment Center team, you will act as the liaison between centralized Procurement and site leadership. You will be responsible for overseeing the site's indirect procurement functions, which include vendor management for third-party service providers, purchase order oversight, and inventory control. Your role will involve leading supplier management key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics reporting, collaborating with stakeholders to identify and address areas for improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate procurement operations for the fulfillment center, encompassing supplier management (goods and services), non-inventory labor, flow, and space models, cycle counts, inventory oversight, and procurement transaction support.
- Assist in Procure-to-Pay execution and local sourcing initiatives as required.
- Lead and mentor a team of non-inventory associates to ensure the site is adequately resourced and positioned for success.
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of non-inventory items and collaborate with similar facilities to promote best practices.
- Ensure adherence to network KPIs and generate regular reports to foster improvements within the Operations network.
- Provide insights when expenditures exceed budgets and work with centralized Procurement to adjust purchase orders accordingly.
- Drive compliance with site audits, supplier scorecards, and other centralized tracking systems.
- Ensure site stakeholders receive training in Coupa and Payee Central tools.
- Act as the primary contact for third-party vendor escalations related to janitorial services, waste management, food and PPE vending, pallet management, pest control, snow removal, and landscaping.
- Manage relationships with all stakeholders, including General Managers, Senior Operations Managers, Operations Managers, Area Managers, Human Resources Managers, Learning Managers, and Regional Maintenance Engineers.
- Ensure compliance with people management-related KPIs for the non-inventory team.
- Oversee and promote safety compliance for non-inventory teams during daily operations and collaborate with regional/local safety teams on safety concerns and escalations.
- Build relationships across the facility and network to ensure the sharing and implementation of best practices.
- Utilize input from the category team to construct a category metrics model for tracking and monitoring performance in relation to the category strategy, including supplier scorecards and site audits on third-party services.
- Collaborate internally within a complex matrix organization and with external suppliers to develop solutions that provide Procurement support to the Operations network.
- Assist central Procurement functions in identifying demand, procurement, and inventory management of all non-merchandise items essential for building operations, such as corrugate, packing materials, labor, and janitorial services.
- Work with Accounts Payable, suppliers, and various internal teams to ensure prompt resolution of vendor payment issues.
- This role is conducted in a warehouse environment that necessitates frequent movement throughout the building. Candidates should be comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures, as many facilities have dock doors that open during shifts. This position requires full-time on-site attendance.
