Position Overview
Are you a licensed Occupational Therapist eager to showcase your expertise in a vibrant and supportive setting? We have an exciting opportunity for you to contribute your strong work ethic to our Primary Care division.
In alignment with a patient and family-centered approach to healthcare and in accordance with our organization's vision for an ideal service delivery model grounded in Primary Health Care, the Primary Care Occupational Therapist (OT) collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to create individualized care plans and provide health services coordinated through the Primary Care Home. The OT adheres to the professional standards and ethical guidelines established by the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia.
The OT delivers competent, safe, and ethical care to individuals and their families across various environments, including medical practices, residences, facilities, and community settings. By applying evidence-informed practices, the OT aims to achieve effective outcomes related to the clients' engagement in meaningful activities. Through comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, recommended interventions, and follow-up care, the occupational therapist plays a vital role in the overall care strategy developed by the interdisciplinary team, informed by the client's personal health goals.
The OT will empower individuals, along with their families and support systems, to attain and sustain optimal health and participation in daily activities by fulfilling the outlined responsibilities.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day shifts, 08:30 to 16:30

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia.

- Teaching: Capable of instructing both individuals and groups.
- Knowledge Integration: Incorporates best practices and current research evidence to inform professional decisions and actions.
- Communication: Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with clients, families, the public, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members. Skilled in resolving interpersonal conflicts.
- Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze and evaluate relevant data from multiple sources to solve problems and make informed decisions.
- Human Caring and Relationship-Centered Practice: Promotes person-centered care while being sensitive to diverse cultures, social justice issues, and advocacy needs.
- Management: Proven ability to organize tasks, set objectives, prioritize, and achieve results.
- Leadership: Fosters staff morale, engagement, and empowerment. Demonstrates innovative planning for change and professional development.
- Teamwork: Committed to fostering collaboration and excellence in delivering person-centered care.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in computer applications, including Meditech and Windows-based programs. Capable of data analysis and reporting. Familiar with email and word processing software.
- Physical Ability: Capable of performing the duties required for this position.
