Senior Security Advisor

Trans Mountain is seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Advisor to join our team. As a Senior Security Advisor, you will be responsible for assessing security risks related to our facilities and leading the implementation of protective measures.
Key Responsibilities:- Identify, evaluate, and control all security threats related to our facilities in the lower mainland, BC.
- Monitor the environment for credible security threats, including social media.
- Prepare plans to protect against credible threats and execute them as required.
- Review security plans for our offices and pump stations in the British Columbia Region annually and update them as needed.
- Investigate security breaches and report to authorities as required and assist with investigations.
- Provide reports and recommendations to Operations Senior Management.
- Ensure security is maintained during incidents and protect employees from potential threats to health and safety by conducting security checks and consulting with key stakeholders.
- Assist in the incident command process during incidents and emergency response exercises annually.
- Coordinate security exercises and training program sessions, including planning and executing tabletop exercises with local police force participation annually or as required by our security management program.
- Communicate with law enforcement and regulators to ensure familiarity with critical and business-essential facilities and liaise with law enforcement regarding planned protests or other security incidents.
- Review, develop, and maintain Security Program ISLMS documentation, including policies and procedures, to meet CER OPR management system requirements.
- Participate in ISLMS development committees and internal ISLMS security audits.
- Develop and implement audit corrective action plans to address audit findings.
- Meet regulatory compliance, including identifying applicable legislation and implementing measures for compliance, including security exercises and other government security requirements.
- Work with project management on security projects, including budget submissions and vendor management.
- University degree in a related security field (Security, Criminology, and/or Political Science).
- Over 7 years' experience in corporate security, preferably in the energy industry.
- Excellent working knowledge of regulatory requirements in the pipeline industry.
- Experience working in an operating environment.
- Leadership experience preferred.
- Strong communication and ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft programs, specifically Excel.
- ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification is an asset.
- Travel to work sites is required (25%).
- Valid class 5 driver's license is required.
- Good working knowledge of technology requirements for physical security (CCTV, IDS, access control).
