Position Overview
The Director of Data Insights will spearhead the Data Insights team, establishing a clear vision and strategic framework for leveraging advanced data analytics and machine learning to enhance our product offerings and drive business improvements. This role is crucial in advancing our data governance maturity and ensuring the effective integration of machine learning and Artificial Intelligence into our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Data Insights team, crafting and executing data strategies that foster business enhancement.
  • Oversee data collection, analysis, and interpretation to generate actionable insights that facilitate informed decision-making across the organization.
  • Manage the recruitment, training, and development of a team of data analysts and scientists, promoting a collaborative and growth-oriented culture.
  • Enhance CARFAX Canada's Data Governance maturity, ensuring data accuracy, privacy, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Product team and other departments to identify data needs and communicate the value of data insights in solving business challenges.
  • Oversee multiple data-related projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and ethical guidelines, aligning data management practices with organizational policies.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends in data analytics and technology, implementing innovative solutions to improve data capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience as a data leader with a proven track record of influence and successful governance implementation.
  • 5-7 years of experience in advanced analytics within a data-centric organization.
  • Strong knowledge of database technologies, particularly in a Microsoft Azure environment.
  • Strategic thinker with a solid understanding of business drivers.
  • Experience managing large datasets from diverse sources across complex business functions.
  • Familiarity with Agile Development methodologies is advantageous.
  • Proficient in data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and advanced analytical software (R, Python, SAS).
  • A Master's degree in advanced data analytics is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of building positive relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong program and project management capabilities.
  • Experience in mentoring and leading team members effectively.
