About the Role

Interior Health Authority is seeking a skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail, BC. As a Food Service Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality food services to our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of designated staff, including scheduling, training, and performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Dietitian to plan menus and develop recipes that meet the nutritional and therapeutic needs of our patients and residents.
  • Estimate food requirements, order and receive supplies, and resolve discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Visit patients and residents to obtain and exchange diet-related information.
  • Monitor expenditures and make recommendations for budget allocations.
  • Evaluate meal quality and quantity to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Coordinate meal preparation, pricing, and other related duties for community-based services such as Meals on Wheels.
  • Assist in coordinating and maintaining facility in-house services, including cafeteria operations.
  • Perform audits to ensure compliance with food service and quality assurance standards.
  • Monitor the storage of food, supplies, and related items.
