POSITION SUMMARY
The Gas Technician plays a crucial role in executing both preventative and corrective maintenance, as well as routine and urgent services on mechanical and electrical systems across various facilities. This position requires adherence to established protocols and compliance with both internal and external regulations, including environmental, health and safety standards, and fire protection measures.
In this role, you will:
- Maintain and repair non-technical components of facilities.
- Show commitment to pursuing trades certification or licensing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute tasks in line with established procedures and standards.
- Adhere to all relevant internal and external regulations, including those related to environmental safety and fire protection.
- Conduct regular inspections and monitoring of facility conditions and non-technical components.
- Provide insights regarding facility conditions and recommend improvements or repairs.
- Perform walkthroughs and inspections to monitor assigned facilities.
- Address routine and urgent service requests efficiently.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and repair tasks on non-technical components.
- Document resolution data in the service maintenance management system, ensuring compliance with quality and contract requirements.
- Track and report the status of maintenance and repair work, initiating documentation for necessary approvals.
- Assist in implementing the preventative maintenance program, ensuring deficiencies are documented and escalated appropriately.
- Participate in facility-related projects as needed.
- Ensure compliance with corporate and legislative policies regarding environmental health and safety.
- Maintain all assigned tools and arrange for their repair or replacement as necessary.
- Submit all expenses promptly.
- Contribute to tenant and customer satisfaction through professional service delivery.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK REQUIREMENTS
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment as required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION
High school diploma.
JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in facility operations and maintenance.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- 1-3 years of relevant facility operations and maintenance experience.
- High school diploma.
- Trade-related training is advantageous.
- Ability to follow and execute facility operations and maintenance processes effectively.
- Skills in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing non-technical facility components.
- Capability to assess facility conditions and propose enhancements or repairs.
- Willingness to learn and apply fire, life, safety, and building codes and standards.
- Strong commitment to environmental health and safety practices.
- Excellent client-service orientation with a strong sense of urgency.
- Effective communication skills for data exchange and clarification.
LICENSES AND PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATION
- Interest in pursuing trades certification or licensing.
- Valid driver's license is required.
