Clerical Support Associate Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clerical Support Associate to join our Haemodialysis Department, Nephrology Program. As a key member of our team, you will provide administrative support, maintain accurate records, and ensure seamless communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service and first-line support to patients and families
  • Manage administrative tasks, including scheduling, data entry, and record-keeping
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other staff members
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including demographic information, medical history, and treatment plans
  • Assist with unit staffing tasks, including scheduling and coordinating staff assignments
  • Perform other clerical duties as required, including answering phones, responding to emails, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Completion of a Community College Office Administration Diploma (preferably Medical) or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year of full-time recent clerical experience, preferably in an out-patient healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and computer skills, including Microsoft Office and MEDITECH
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
