Job Title: Elementary School Teacher

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Elementary School Teacher to join our team at J. Addison School.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and social growth for students in grades K-6.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and document students' progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness to inform instruction.
  • Participate in staff meetings to collaborate with colleagues and stay updated on school policies and initiatives.
  • Provide tutoring assistance to students who require additional support, helping them to catch up with their peers.
  • Assign and correct homework, ensuring that students understand the material and are meeting the learning objectives.
  • Develop course content that aligns with the approved curriculum, incorporating engaging and interactive teaching methods.
  • Identify children's individual learning needs and develop strategies to support their unique requirements.
  • Lead students in activities that promote their physical, mental, and social development, preparing them for school readiness and beyond.
  • Prepare and implement remedial programs for students who require extra help, working closely with colleagues and school administrators.
  • Prepare subject material for presentation according to the approved curriculum, using a variety of teaching methods to engage students.
  • Prepare, administer, and correct tests to assess student understanding and progress.
  • Teach students using lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations, and field trips, creating a dynamic and interactive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in teaching or a related field.
  • Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Emergency child care first aid and CPR certification.
  • Vulnerable sector check.
  • Dependability, excellent oral and written communication skills, initiative, interpersonal awareness, organized, and values and ethics.
