Job Title: Elementary School Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary School Teacher to join our team at J. Addison School.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters the academic, social, and emotional growth of our students. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching and learning, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and document students' progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and developing strategies to support student learning.
  • Participate in staff meetings, contributing to the development of curriculum and instructional plans.
  • Provide tutoring assistance to students who require additional support, and develop and implement remedial programs as needed.
  • Assign and correct homework, and prepare and administer tests to assess student understanding.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, incorporating a range of teaching strategies and technologies to promote student learning.
  • Identify children's individual learning needs, and develop strategies to support their learning.
  • Lead students in activities that promote their physical, mental, and social development, and their school readiness.
  • Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help, and provide support to students with special needs.
  • Prepare subject material for presentation according to an approved curriculum, and prepare, administer, and correct tests.
  • Teach students using lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations, and field trips, and evaluate student progress regularly.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in teaching, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
  • Dependability, initiative, and interpersonal awareness.
  • Values and ethics, and a commitment to teaching and learning.
