About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Handyman/Woman to join our team at Anew Centre for Healing Ltd. as a Maintenance and Repair Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and upkeep of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and upkeep of facilities, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing hallways, floors, and stairs.
  • Operate Equipment: Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse.
  • Waste Management: Empty trash cans and other waste containers.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Contractor Coordination: Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
  • Appliance Repair: Perform minor repairs on appliances.
  • Safety and Security: Perform safety and security checks, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of facilities.
Requirements
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Certifications: First Aid Certificate.
  • Language: English.
