Your Role

As a successful candidate, you will integrate into a team of mechanical technologists renowned for their expertise in designing intricate industrial piping systems. This position is based in our Fredericton, NB office, serving a diverse range of clients across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize design expertise to create or oversee the development of contract drawings, sketches, and conceptual designs through to construction.
  • Collaborate effectively with Mechanical team members, other disciplines, and clients to ensure project success.
  • Participate actively in project design teams.
  • Communicate effectively with team members.
  • Lead and manage the mechanical components of projects.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
  • Prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Plant 3D 2021.
  • Engage in 3D modeling and design of piping and mechanical systems.
  • Gather and validate data within client facilities.
  • Create isometric drawings.
  • Represent the team in the field and interpret drawings accurately.

Qualifications

Skills and Credentials

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the industrial consulting sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a proven track record of guiding project teams.
  • Strong collaborative skills in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with Stantec's Employee Health and Safety (EH&S) program.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is advantageous.
  • Ability to adapt in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Education and Experience

A technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 8 years of relevant experience is required.

This role typically involves working in an office environment with extensive computer use and prolonged periods of sitting. Fieldwork may involve exposure to outdoor elements.
