Job Title: Rehabilitative Care Worker

Health Association Nova Scotia is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Rehabilitative Care Worker to join our team. As a key member of our rehabilitation services, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and long-term mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individual support plans to promote independence and well-being.
  • Provide daily support and supervision to clients, including assistance with activities of daily living, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Facilitate nutritional menu planning, meal preparation, and grocery shopping to meet special dietary requirements.
  • Transport clients to activities and events, with mileage payable at prevailing rates or use company van.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma and completion of the Disability Supports Program, Human Services 2-year diploma program, or equivalent.
  • Current Crisis Prevention Intervention certificate and Certification in Standard First Aid and CPR.
  • Food Handlers and WHMIS certification.
  • Knowledge of Supportive Decision Making and the UN Convention on Human Rights.
  • Recent related job experience and good oral and written communication skills.
Working Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a small option home setting, with some travel required for outside activities, events, and appointments. The position involves regular housekeeping, cooking, and housecleaning tasks, as well as recreational events.
