About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Stone Polisher - Machine Operator to join our team at Ashtech Stones Ltd. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating machinery to grind and polish stone surfaces to a high finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate blade or wire saws to cut blocks of stone to specified dimensions
  • Conduct quality control checks on stone products
  • Operate machines to grind and polish surfaces of stone blocks, slabs or other stone products to specific shape or design and to produce a smooth finish
  • Operate sandblasting equipment to cut inscriptions or decorative designs in monumental stone
  • Perform ongoing machine adjustments to ensure optimal performance
  • Operate stone-dressing lathe to sharpen and dress grindstones that grind logs into pulp
  • Operate machines to drill holes in blocks or slabs of stone according to specifications
  • Finish stone products with spray paint and by mounting plaques or installing concrete bases
Work Environment

As a Stone Polisher - Machine Operator, you will work in a fast-paced production environment with a focus on quality and efficiency. The role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a noisy and dusty environment.

Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field
  • No degree, certificate or diploma required
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Accurate and detail-oriented
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work overtime as required
