Job Summary:

Ongwanada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to oversee the operations of the Finance Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all financial processes are executed appropriately and in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement financial plans, forecasts, and budgets to ensure the department's financial goals are met.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and variance analyses to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Financial Operations: Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Financial Systems: Ensure the maintenance and operation of financial systems, including accounting software and other financial tools.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with governing legislation, policies, and procedures, as well as collective agreements and memoranda of understanding.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Supervise and lead a team of financial staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of financial tasks and projects.

Requirements:

  • Education: Post-secondary degree in business, commerce, finance, or accounting, or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in non-profit finances and accounting, with previous supervisory/management experience an asset.
  • Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to develop effective relationships across the organization and with external agencies.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency with financial accounting software and strong attention to detail and accuracy.
