Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Health Records Clerk to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive patient information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform clerical duties related to creating and maintaining patient records, including data entry, record retrieval, and assembly.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis and release of patient information as required.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of patient records, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and data management.
  • Develop and maintain effective filing systems and databases to ensure efficient access to patient information.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a recognized medical terminology course.
  • 6 months recent experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to keyboard at a rate of 45 wpm.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize work and prioritize tasks.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
