Job Opportunity: Special Education Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Assistant to join our team at the Toronto District School Board.

Job Summary:

The Special Education Assistant will provide support to students with diverse needs, including those with mild to severe exceptionalities, in a variety of educational settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as personal care and hygiene
  • Support students with academic and behavioral needs
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members
  • Participate in individualized education plans (IEPs) and other educational programs

Requirements:

  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months of experience working with children/adolescents with diverse needs
  • CPR and First Aid certification (some positions may require)
