Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Construction Management Intern. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to develop and apply your skills in a real-world setting, working closely with experienced engineers and construction professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in field engineering, operation planning, cost control, project scheduling, quantity tracking, material procurement, contract administration, and estimating.
  • Perform engineering tasks requiring standard techniques and handle minor problems of a technical nature arising during construction.
  • Maintain records regarding job progress, costs, material usage, and other relevant data.
  • Plan and schedule job and/or job segments, and investigate problems or reported incidents.
  • Review plans and specifications to determine material requirements, pricing, and other relevant information.
  • Work with suppliers to facilitate the handling and expediting delivery of materials.
  • Estimate costs for large-scale projects and utilize various software tools, including Hard Dollar, AutoCAD, P6, and InRoads.
Qualifications
  • Ability to travel or relocate as needed.
  • Ability to work full-time during the Fall.
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in a wide-ranging climate and environment.
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help ensure that nobody gets hurt.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Functional knowledge of English (written and verbal) is considered an asset, as mobility across provinces in Canada is required.
