Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in a Full Scope position. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify actual and potential strengths and limitations, including physiological, psychological, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs.
  2. Provide a supportive environment for patients, promoting their involvement in healthcare decisions and respecting their personal choices.
  3. Contribute to the development and ongoing changes to individualized care plans, attending and providing input into multidisciplinary care planning meetings and family conferences.
  4. Deliver nursing care according to identified policies and procedures, technology, and FHA standards, evaluating outcomes and recording observations and reports.
  5. Perform admissions, discharges, and transfers of patients according to agency operating policies and procedures.
  6. Document and update all relevant care and procedure information to ensure patient safety and comfort.
  7. Operate and maintain effective functioning equipment related to patient care, such as bathtubs, scales, and mechanical lifts.
  8. Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  9. Assist in the orientation of new staff, students, and other members of the healthcare team.
  10. Participate in continuous quality improvement and program evaluation activities, education sessions, team conferences, meetings, and committees.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A graduate of a recognized practical nursing program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Ability to organize work and implement a plan of care.
  • Knowledge and competencies to work at full scope of practice as currently required by the BCCNM, including administering medications.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
