Key Responsibilities

Daily Activities Overview

Project Oversight & Design

Collaborate with senior experts and technical teams on the design and execution of remediation and/or risk management strategies for contaminated sites and brownfields. Oversee and direct projects concerning the management of environmental pollutants in soil, groundwater, and other media, including phased environmental site assessments (ESAs) and the Ontario Record of Site Condition (RSC) process. Develop and contribute to contract specifications to facilitate the bidding/tendering process. Lead or assist with contract management tasks related to remediation projects. Serve as the primary point of contact/client liaison to convey technical and project management details to client teams. Ensure compliance with corporate, client, and site-specific health and safety protocols and regulations. Manage multiple concurrent environmental projects involving teams of environmental professionals and specialists.

Business Development Initiatives

Address Requests for Proposal related to contaminated site projects to foster and maintain robust client relationships. Identify and cultivate new business opportunities. Provide leadership in sustaining existing client relationships, including the preparation of proposals and qualifications statements. Travel to other Dillon offices as required.

Required Qualifications

Essential Skills for Success

Professional Engineer designation. A degree in environmental engineering or a related environmental or engineering discipline. At least 10 to 15 years of experience in environmental consulting or related industrial roles, including project management experience. Comprehensive knowledge of regulations governing contaminated sites and remediation processes.

Relevant Experience

Design and execution of: Remedial action plans Risk Management Plans Remedial solutions Risk management measures Remediation specifications and tender packages Contract management Permitting and compliance Cost estimation for remedial programs Analysis of remedial options Proven track record of managing multiple contaminated site/ESA-related projects of varying overall project value. Familiarity with diverse remediation technologies and methodologies across different media. Experience collaborating with contractors. Strong understanding of the Environmental Protection Act, including regulations associated with brownfields, spills, and excess soils. Experience with industrial sites and First Nations communities. In-depth understanding of contaminant fate and transport, and the development of conceptual site models to support remediation efforts. Proficiency in conducting phased environmental site assessments (ESAs) and the Record of Site Condition (RSC) process in Ontario.
