About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan (OTIP). As a key member of our Quality Assurance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute Test Strategies: Create detailed test plans and strategies for modified systems based on technical and business specifications, in accordance with company standards.
  • Design and Execute Test Scripts: Design and execute test scripts to identify defects and ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements.
  • Document and Track Defects: Document and track defects, providing detailed reproduction steps, expected and actual results.
  • Support Automation Framework: Support and maintain an automation framework to enable test automation at all stages.
  • Develop and Run Automated Test Cases: Develop and run automated test cases to ensure constant continuous improvement to productivity and efficiency.
  • Integrate Testing into DevOps Pipelines: Develop and implement strategy for integrating Testing into automated DevOps pipelines.
  • Conduct Quality-Control Tests: Conduct quality-control tests and analyze to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements.
  • Work with Cross-Functional Teams: Work as part of cross-functional agile teams to deliver manual and automated testing planning and execution.
  • Resolve Incidents and Problem Tickets: Resolve incidents and problem tickets, as needed.
  • Confirm Quality, Reliability, and Efficiency: Confirm quality, reliability, and efficiency of technologies.
  • Track Quality Engineering Progress: Proactively track Quality Engineering (QE) progress against plan and support the analysis and collection of metrics for reporting purposes.
  • Identify Opportunities for Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective action processes.
Requirements
  • Post-Secondary Education: A post-secondary education in software quality assurance or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant Work Experience: 5+ years of relevant work experience in QE best practices, tools, and approaches to testing front-end and back-end applications.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Azure Technologies: Hands-on experience with Azure Technologies: Azure DevOps, Azure Monitoring.
  • Load Testing Tools: Hands-on experience with Load Testing Tools: Load Runner, VuGen.
  • Cloud Technology Fundamentals: Demonstrate understanding of cloud technology fundamentals and cloud-based security concepts.
  • Modern Software Development Technologies: Strong understanding of modern software development technologies.
  • Automated Testing Tools: Familiarity with SQL, C#, and.Net and automated testing tools such as Selenium, NUnit, and associated languages.
  • Technical and Operational Documentation: Ability to write technical and operational documentation.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Highly motivated communicator with strong customer service acumen.
