ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Licensed Clinical Counselor (LCC) to become an integral part of our Lifestyle Medicine team. In this interdisciplinary role, you will work alongside Physicians, Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Clinical Counselors, Kinesiologists, and Nutritionists/Dieticians. The ideal candidate will possess a holistic understanding of health that encompasses mental, physical, and social dimensions, applying interdisciplinary approaches to patient care.

The successful applicant will have experience working with Veterans, military personnel, and first responders facing various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and occupational stress. Proficiency in therapeutic techniques such as EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Exposure Therapy, and trauma-focused CBT is highly desirable. You will engage in both individual and group counseling, tailoring your approach to meet the diverse cultural needs of our clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and develop tailored treatment plans for mental health issues faced by Veterans and first responders
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions utilizing various therapeutic modalities
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care for clients with complex needs
  • Build and maintain supportive relationships with clients and their families, providing education and guidance
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to remain informed about advancements in the field
  • Document client progress and treatment plans accurately and consistently
  • Address mental health concerns related to chronic pain, substance use, and other conditions
  • Work closely with the Centre's team to meet client needs and achieve positive outcomes

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in counseling or a related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Registered Clinical Counselor (RCC) designation through the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC)
  • A minimum of five years of clinical counseling experience, particularly with Veterans and first responders
  • Experience in group therapy facilitation
  • Certification in EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Exposure Therapy, or trauma-focused CBT is an asset
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a self-directed work ethic
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in an interdisciplinary setting
  • Interest in personal and organizational growth
  • Experience with Veterans and first responders is preferred
  • Knowledge of Indigenous cultural practices or proficiency in a second language is a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Compensation: $50.00-$65.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as required
