About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Group Home Worker to join our team at the Developmental Disabilities Association. As a Group Home Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports
  • Assess and address the needs of clients, including their eligibility for specific services
  • Perform administrative tasks, including data entry and communication with clients and stakeholders
  • Implement life skills workshops and programs to support client development
  • Liaise with clients' families and community contacts to ensure comprehensive support
  • Supervise activities and provide guidance to clients living in group homes
  • Implement behavior management programs and crisis intervention strategies
  • Collaborate with social services agencies and healthcare providers to ensure seamless support
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs and making recommendations for improvement
Requirements
  • Developmental Services Worker (DSW) Training
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate
  • First Aid and CPR Certificates
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Initiative and a client-focused approach
