Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Assist the Area Manager in estimating costs for materials, labor, and equipment for construction projects based on bids and specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain financial statements and forecasts throughout project durations.
  • Maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Support the planning and scheduling of construction milestones and monitor progress.
  • Assist in contract preparation and manage changes to agreements with stakeholders.
  • Oversee contractor relations for significant projects.
  • Ensure effective cost monitoring and control on projects.

Project Oversight

  • Manage construction schedules and report progress to the Area Manager.
  • Negotiate and confirm changes to contracts with relevant parties.
  • Prepare and distribute progress reports to clients.
  • Ensure availability of necessary materials and equipment for project success.
  • Inspect work quality to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.

Leadership and Development

  • Ensure adherence to quality control standards in daily operations.
  • Train employees on operational standards, safety practices, and job functions.
  • Provide effective orientation for new hires.
  • Motivate employees to meet performance expectations.
  • Address employee inquiries and resolve workplace issues.

Health and Safety Compliance

  • Ensure implementation of safety regulations by supervisors.
  • Provide training to ensure safe work practices are followed.
  • Investigate health and safety complaints and incidents.
  • Complete necessary reports and documentation for safety compliance.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the construction and drywall industries:

  • Extensive knowledge of drywall and construction practices.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
  • Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Project management experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience is advantageous.
