Position Overview

Location: Edmonton, AB.

Alternate location for internal applications: Vancouver, BC

Work Environment: Flexible hybrid work model promoting collaboration.

Role Summary

The position of Collateral Management Specialist is vital in ensuring the effective preparation, registration, and maintenance of collateral securities within CWB's equipment financing portfolio. This role is essential for supporting management in upholding high standards of quality, risk management, and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement

  • Provide outstanding client experiences at every touchpoint, aligning with CWB's commitment to service excellence.

Internal Collaboration

  • Offer collateral securities support for equipment financing to a designated branch network, collaborating closely with leaders and client relationship managers.
  • Prepare and manage documentation for equipment financing loans, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Meet Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets and quality standards for credit support.
  • Foster a collaborative relationship with the credit support department and the equipment financing network while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Clarify closing requirements with relevant teams, clients, and legal representatives to ensure timely closings.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of processes that yield consistent credit support outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with CWB's policies and guidelines in collateral securities management.
  • Accountable for executing work procedures and policies to comply with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in projects that impact the functional area, adhering to governance practices and budget constraints.
  • Conduct due diligence on credit support activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Customer-oriented with a proven ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Identify and implement process efficiencies aligned with corporate values.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Self-motivated team player with experience in coaching and mentoring.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with diverse partners.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining data accuracy.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in credit support with a solid understanding of collateral securities.
  • Familiarity with commercial lending policies, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in Banking Systems, Loan Origination Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Forms.
