Position Overview:

As a prominent energy provider with over a century of expertise, we are dedicated to delivering renewable energy, natural gas, electricity, and propane to millions of customers. We are looking for a seasoned construction leader with extensive knowledge of natural gas infrastructure to take on the role of Operations Supervisor.

In this capacity, you will oversee operations in the Kootenay region, managing a proficient team to fulfill daily operational demands, capital construction initiatives, service installations, repairs, maintenance, and emergency response protocols. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the safety of your team and the integrity of all assets and equipment under your supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of unionized personnel to achieve daily operational goals and project commitments.
  • Become proficient with the software and applications necessary for timely and budget-compliant deliverables.
  • Collaborate with internal resources to maintain adequate staffing levels.
  • Oversee contracted services in alignment with established agreements.
  • Engage in the recruitment process to select new team members through an inclusive approach.
  • Mentor and support team members to enhance performance and facilitate ongoing training and development.
  • Utilize your field expertise to address work-related challenges and collaborate with others as needed.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure quality oversight and compliance with industry standards and service agreements.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive work environment for your team and others.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including Site Safe Work Planning.
  • Provide necessary safety information and equipment, including personal protective gear.
  • Participate in investigations of incidents.
  • Apply financial acumen to manage budgets, third-party contracts, and internal service agreements.
  • Establish and nurture effective relationships with stakeholders, customers, contractors, and municipal agencies.
  • Promote a safety culture to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to develop strategic initiatives aimed at operational excellence.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five years of management experience in natural gas infrastructure; a post-secondary diploma is an asset.
  • Experience in construction, underground utilities, and emergency response is advantageous.
  • A commitment to developing quality solutions with a strong emphasis on safety.
  • A collaborative approach to fostering workplace connections.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
