Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the daily monitoring and observation of casino operations, ensuring the security and integrity of casino assets, staff, and guests. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, analytical, and observational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a secure back office environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage surveillance operators, delegating tasks and maintaining awareness of all gaming operations at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information and prevent its improper disclosure or use.
  • Investigate and report irregular, unusual, or suspicious activities, documenting all findings.
  • Monitor and report on the conditions of surveillance facilities and equipment, performing preventative maintenance as required.
  • Provide training and coaching to new team members, ensuring they meet the necessary standards.
  • Assist the management team with projects as needed, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the health and safety directives are followed, and other statutory regulations are met.

Requirements

  • Secondary School diploma, with a preference for graduates with a post-secondary education in Law and Security or Criminology.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in surveillance or security-related fields, with a preference for supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, observational, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented skills, with strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to obtain registration as a category 1 Gaming Assistant (license) with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

  • Secure back office environment, requiring prolonged sitting and monitoring of footage.
