About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Hummingbirds Preschool Inc. as a key member of our childcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Child Care and Supervision: Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, and maintain a safe and healthy environment for all children.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, and discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: Experience an asset.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), Child development supervisor (ECE level 3), Child development worker (ECE level 2), Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate.
  • Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Medical exam, Immunization records, Tuberculosis test, Vulnerable sector check.
Work Environment

This is a permanent position with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling. The ideal candidate will be punctual, dependable, and have excellent oral communication skills.
