Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality childcare and education to children in our before and after school programs. This includes developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bathing, diapering, and feeding infants and toddlers
  • Developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Maintaining daycare equipment and preparing snacks
  • Guiding and assisting children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Observing children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and preparing reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • Planning and maintaining an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Child development assistant (ECE level 1), child development supervisor (ECE level 3), or child development worker (ECE level 2) certification
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Criminal record check, medical exam, immunization records, and tuberculosis test
Work Environment:

This is a permanent position with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The successful candidate must be able to bend, crouch, and kneel.
