Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at KMH Cardiology Centres Inc. in Mississauga. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and downloading ambulatory monitors, performing 12-Lead electrocardiographic procedures, and assisting in patient diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Holter Monitor Installation and Data Download: Install and download ambulatory monitors to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Blood Pressure Monitor Installation and Data Download: Install and download blood pressure monitors to ensure accurate patient readings.
  • Arrhythmia Recognition: Recognize and identify arrhythmias in patient electrocardiograms.
  • Resting 12-Lead Electrocardiogram Recording: Record resting 12-lead electrocardiograms to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • ECG and Blood Pressure Readings for Physician Review: Provide ECG and blood pressure readings for physician review and interpretation.
  • Conduct Tests Following Protocols: Conduct tests and procedures following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Patient Instruction on Ambulatory Procedures: Provide patients with instructions on ambulatory procedures and ensure they understand the process.
  • Ensure Proper Equipment Fitting for Patient Comfort and Safety: Ensure that equipment is properly fitted for patient comfort and safety.
  • Maintain Clean Work Areas and Equipment: Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
  • Assist in Maintaining Inventory: Assist in maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless patient care and treatment.
  • Attend Team Meetings and Updates: Attend team meetings and updates to stay informed and engaged.
  • Coordinate Patient Care and Flow: Coordinate patient care and flow to ensure efficient and effective treatment.
  • Record Patient Medical History: Record patient medical history and ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Maintain Electronic Medical Records: Maintain electronic medical records to ensure accurate and timely access to patient information.
  • Ensure Patient Confidentiality: Ensure patient confidentiality and maintain the highest level of professionalism.
  • Respond to Patient Inquiries: Respond to patient inquiries and provide timely and accurate information.
  • Support ECG Technologists: Support ECG technologists in their duties and responsibilities.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of Laboratory Assistant Program or Equivalent: Must be a graduate of a laboratory assistant program or equivalent.
  • Certification as a Lab Technician: Must be certified as a lab technician.
  • Experience with ECG and Ambulatory Monitors Preferred: Experience with ECG and ambulatory monitors is preferred.
  • Clinic Experience is an Asset: Clinic experience is an asset.
  • Strong Communication and Organizational Skills: Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and EMR Systems: Must be proficient in MS Office and EMR systems.
  • Team Player with a Patient-Focused Approach: Must be a team player with a patient-focused approach.
Working Hours and Location:

This is a full-time role, 5 days a week, 37.5 hours, located in Mississauga. Hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
