We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Insurance Litigation Attorney to join our team at TOTEM RECRUITER. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance litigation and a proven track record of success in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal analysis and advice in litigation, focusing on specialty lines of insurance, professional negligence claims, construction professional litigation, and other sectors.
  • Analyze legal and factual issues and advise clients on the best course of action.
  • Attend examinations for discovery and represent clients in court.
  • Work closely with partners and other team members to ensure the successful resolution of files.
  • Prepare correspondence to lawyers and clients, including letters and reports.
  • Mentor junior lawyers and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Maintain strong relationships with insurers and insureds, ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues.
  • Review and analyze various documents in preparation for litigation, including contracts and other legal documents.
  • Submit filings to the court and appear in court to argue motions, attend pre-trials, and mediations.

Requirements:

  • JD from a Common Law Program;
  • Member of the Ontario Bar or any other Canadian Bar;
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in insurance and litigation;
  • Excellent written and spoken English;
  • Excellent analytical and synthesis skills.
