- Provide legal analysis and advice in litigation, focusing on specialty lines of insurance, professional negligence claims, construction professional litigation, and other sectors.
- Analyze legal and factual issues and advise clients.
- Attend examinations for discovery.
- Work with partners and be actively involved in each step of the files.
- Prepare correspondence to lawyers and clients.
- Work with junior lawyers and act as mentor.
- Maintain relations with insurers and insureds.
- Review various documents in preparation for litigation.
- Submit filings to the court.
- Appear in court, independently or with partners, to argue motions, attend pre-trials and mediations.
Qualifications:
- JD Common law Program;
- Member of the Ontario Bar or any other Canadian Bar;
- Minimum 6 years experience in insurance and litigation;
- Excellent written and spoken English;
- Excellent analytical and synthesis skills.
