Position Overview

We are seeking a committed Safety and Environmental Compliance Manager to enhance our safety culture and refine our safety protocols. Our goal is to ensure a secure and healthy workplace for all employees. You will be responsible for developing, executing, and supervising all health and safety initiatives at our manufacturing facility, ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards while continuously seeking improvements in our safety measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote Safety Culture: You will advocate for a culture centered on health and safety, providing training and guidance to employees on safety standards and practices, as well as coordinating emergency response plans and drills.
  • Policy Development: You will maintain and revise Health and Safety policies, programs, and reports as necessary, identifying process gaps and proposing solutions through education and collaboration with management.
  • Technical Expertise: You will offer specialized knowledge in health, safety, and environmental areas, including industrial hygiene, emergency preparedness, incident investigation, pollution prevention, waste management, and chemical management.
  • Regulatory Compliance: You will assist Plant Managers and Leadership in ensuring compliance with relevant EHS legislation, conducting audits and inspections, and maintaining necessary records.
  • Incident Management: You will monitor production to promote safe working conditions, maintain Safety Data Sheets, and investigate all accidents and near misses.
  • Continuous Improvement: You will stay updated on the latest health and safety information and practices to maintain industry standards and regulations.
  • Change Management: You will implement strategies that facilitate the adoption of improvements and best practices, collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve health and environmental safety objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience in an industrial setting with high-speed machinery, successfully engaging staff in health, safety, and environmental programs.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Expertise in health and safety with a track record of fostering a culture of trust and ownership through knowledge sharing.
  • Motivation: A strong commitment to achieving long-term safety records and inspiring others to share this commitment.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of building trust and influencing without authority.
