Your RoleAs a Hygiene and Safety Technician, you will collaborate closely with the Hygiene and Safety team.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Implementing and advocating for Englobe's health and safety protocols.
- Coordinating and executing assigned tasks related to the management and execution of environmental projects, which may include:
- Conducting assessments related to Designated Substances and other Hazardous Materials, performing industrial hygiene investigations, and evaluating asbestos and mould, as well as indoor air quality, potable water, and radon.
- Overseeing and validating site remediation efforts.
- Preparing field notes, analyzing data, and conducting evaluations.
- Contributing to the writing of technical reports and proposals.
- Participating in project and office meetings, along with health and safety inspections.
- Maintaining a commitment to surpassing client expectations through high-quality work.
- Upholding professionalism and objectivity while engaging with colleagues and clients requiring varying levels of support.
- Managing challenging situations with tact and diplomacy to foster positive relationships with all stakeholders.
- Building and maintaining client relationships while performing project administration tasks, including time-sheet management, organization, and equipment calibration.
- Being available for a flexible schedule that may include after-hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- A university degree or college diploma in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, or a related environmental field.
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience in environmental assessment or fieldwork.
- Preferred certifications include Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT), Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH), or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP).
- Familiarity with provincial and federal environmental regulations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Experience supervising contractors on-site.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- A team-oriented mindset with exceptional communication abilities.
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- Willingness to travel to remote locations as required.
- Demonstrated sensitivity and commitment to occupational health and safety.
