Englobe is a leading environmental consulting firm that offers a wide range of services to clients across various industries. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hygiene Health & Safety Specialist to join our team.
About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic team of professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional results and exceeding client expectations. As a Hygiene Health & Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for applying and promoting Englobe's health and safety rules, coordinating and completing assigned activities related to environmental projects, and conducting surveys and assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules;
- Coordinate and complete assigned activities with respect to the implementation and management of environmental projects including but not limited to: surveys related to Designated Substances and other Hazardous Materials, industrial hygiene investigation, asbestos and mould assessment, indoor air quality assessments, potable water surveys and radon surveys;
- Supervise and verify site remediation activities;
- Prepare field notes, data analysis and evaluation;
- Participate in technical report and proposal writing;
- Participate in project meetings, office meetings, and health and safety inspections;
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of occupational health and safety principles and practices. You should have a university degree or college diploma in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field. A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in environmental assessment/field work is also required.
Preferred qualifications include Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) certification, Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH) certification, or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) certification. You should also have a working knowledge of both provincial and federal environmental regulations, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
