About the Role

Chalex Construction Ltd. is seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for installing drywall sheets, taping joints, and applying successive coats of compound to ensure a smooth finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install drywall sheets and secure them to metal or wooden studs or joists.
  • Tape joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish.
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
Work Environment

You will be working in a variety of locations, including construction sites and warehouses. The work environment is dusty, and you will be required to handle heavy loads and work in physically demanding conditions.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation or a related field.
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads
  • Good communication skills
Working Conditions

The work term is permanent, and you will be required to work up to 44 hours per week. The work language is English, and you will be required to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
