Opportunity Overview:

This role presents a unique leadership position within the Community Audiology Services, focusing on the Edmonton Zone. The department is dedicated to delivering comprehensive audiological assessments and follow-up care for individuals ranging from 6 months to adults across various locations. The Audiologist II-Team Lead will report directly to the Manager of Allied Health Community and will play a pivotal role in guiding the Audiology team in alignment with departmental values and priorities within a multidisciplinary framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership in the planning, execution, and assessment of audiological services.
  • Support frontline staff through leading meetings, conducting clinical evaluations, and collaborating with the Allied Health Community Manager for performance feedback.
  • Mentor and coach team members to ensure adherence to Alberta Health Services (AHS) standards and service delivery requirements.
  • Act as a change agent to facilitate and support necessary transitions within the team.
  • Collaborate closely with the Allied Health Community leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality and sustainable patient care.

Role Expectations:

As an Audiologist II, your primary focus will be on enhancing frontline audiological practices, ensuring they align with the latest professional evidence. You will lead your team in delivering safe and high-quality services tailored to the needs of the population while adhering to program parameters and AHS guidelines. Your role will also involve:

  • Coordinating daily operations in collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Supervising students and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs.
  • Providing leadership on departmental, programmatic, and service committees.

Required Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Audiology is essential, along with active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with Connect Care and/or EMR systems is advantageous. Experience in applying HealthChange Methodology principles is also beneficial.
