Position Overview:

This role presents a unique opportunity to take on a leadership position within the Community Audiology Services. The department is dedicated to providing comprehensive audiological assessments and ongoing support for individuals ranging from infants to adults across various locations. The Audiologist II - Team Lead will report directly to the Manager of Allied Health Community and will play a pivotal role in enhancing service delivery while guiding the Audiology team in alignment with departmental values and priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership in the strategic planning, execution, and assessment of audiology services.
  • Support frontline staff through leading meetings, conducting clinical evaluations, and collaborating with the Allied Health Community Manager for performance feedback.
  • Facilitate coaching, mentoring, and work planning to ensure staff meet Alberta Health Services (AHS) service delivery standards.
  • Act as a change agent to support teams through necessary transitions and enhancements in clinical service delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with the Allied Health Community leadership team to ensure high-quality, sustainable patient care.

Role Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for advancing clinical practices in Audiology, ensuring alignment with the latest professional standards and evidence-based practices. This includes:

  • Leading staff in delivering safe and quality services tailored to population needs and program specifications.
  • Assisting in the coordination of daily operations and collaborating with various stakeholders.
  • Overseeing the supervision of students and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs.
  • Providing leadership on departmental, programmatic, and service committees.

Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Audiology is required, along with active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with electronic medical records systems and training in HealthChange Methodology principles would be advantageous.
