Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Refurbishment Advisor. This is a key role that will play a critical part in the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate project issues in the field, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Act as a senior construction and quality advisor, providing expert guidance and support to project teams.
  • Coordinate the clarification of design and specification requirements, ensuring constructability and quality standards are met.
  • Prepare and coordinate specifications, bid packages, and evaluation of tenders, ensuring constructability and quality concerns are addressed.
  • Support the preparation of scope of work documents, lead constructability reviews, and provide business case summaries for project approval.
  • Review construction contractor labour estimates, schedules, execution plans, inspection and test plans, and project oversight plans.
  • Provide oversight of construction contractors' integrated project schedules, ensuring effective project management and field execution.
  • Maintain close liaison with construction contractors on matters involving conventional and nuclear safety, engineering documents, and construction work plans.
  • Perform regular field walk downs to ensure contractors are compliant with safety and quality standards.
  • Support the evaluation of vendor proposals, contracts, and provide recommendations for contract award.
  • Provide regular project field and quality reports to management and project managers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant work experience in nuclear facility operation, refurbishment, and/or new construction.
  • Previous OPG Project Management experience preferred.
  • Refurb quality control experience preferred.
  • Ideal candidates will have worked in a Nuclear Engineering environment.
  • Experience and ability to work as a team player, understanding and managing interrelationships of various internal and external groups.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings and give presentations.
  • Experience and/or willingness to interface with vendors.
  • Strong interest in fast-paced, challenging work environments, with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Strength in understanding, executing, and following governance and procedures, with a questioning and analytical attitude/approach.
  • Knowledge of OPG's ECC Process (Engineering Change Control) is an asset.
