Position Overview:
The Inventory Valuation Analyst or Senior Specialist will collaborate within the practice group team to deliver comprehensive analytical support. This role involves leveraging business acumen and expertise to develop valuation models, conduct thorough research, and articulate appraisal results in detailed reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide analytical assistance for valuations, encompassing due diligence, analysis, and data collection to ensure the integrity of provided information.
- Adhere to established methodologies and utilize standard models and templates under guidance.
- Support research efforts across various market sectors, including retail, consumer products, and industrial.
- Manage multiple projects in a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Engage directly with clients to gather insights on provided information and operational challenges.
- Conduct company and industry analyses focusing on key performance indicators such as inventory efficiency, gross margin, and operational costs to assess value.
- Develop a nuanced understanding of factors influencing asset values and discuss findings with management and clients.
- Compile final appraisal reports detailing both quantitative and qualitative analyses.
- Maintain the appraisal database to ensure accurate and timely information regarding contacts, companies, and recovery data.
- Participate in travel, asset inspections, and client meetings alongside senior appraisers, including documenting findings through photographs and notes.
- Provide additional analytical support as required by management.
- Achieve proficiency in and comply with USPAP standards relevant to industrial inventory valuations.
- Embody the core values of Gordon Brothers and contribute to the strategic objectives of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, with a focus on finance, accounting, or economics.
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience; position level will be determined by experience.
- Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word.
- Demonstrated understanding of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Capability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated while managing various projects with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel periodically, up to 25%.
