Position Overview

Aviation Technician

Key Responsibilities:

The Aviation Technician plays a crucial role in executing all maintenance and service operations.

  1. In this position, you will be responsible for:
  2. Conducting inspections, maintenance, repairs, and testing of aircraft systems.
  3. Removing and replacing line-replaceable units and components as necessary.
  4. Performing specialized tasks in maintenance facilities as required.
  5. Interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
  6. Maintaining the tools and equipment essential for your duties.
  7. Ordering spare parts and materials for aircraft.
  8. Carrying out flight line servicing tasks.
  9. Providing debriefs to the Team Lead as needed.
  10. Conducting workplace inspections and maintaining cleanliness.
  11. Assuming the role of Desk Controller when required.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Transport Canada approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Diploma (or equivalent - Canadian Forces AVN Technician).
  • Possession of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering license M2 or (M1/M2 combined).

Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • At least 3 years of experience in first and second line maintenance activities.
  • Experience in life cycle support activities is advantageous.

Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work shifts; travel may be required.
  • Valid driver's license is necessary.
  • Knowledge of aerospace design and maintenance standards.
  • Ability to obtain a Reliability security clearance from the Government of Canada.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada as a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or valid Work Permit holder.

All candidates must successfully pass a security evaluation in accordance with the Controlled Goods Directorate of Canada and comply with US ITAR regulations.
