Position Overview
Canadian Base Operators Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief of Aircraft Rescue Fire Services to lead our firefighting team. This permanent role is integral to our operations, ensuring the safety and security of aviation activities.

Role Summary
Under the guidance of the Site Manager, the Chief will oversee a team of full-time firefighters, ensuring optimal performance and readiness for emergency situations. The Chief is responsible for maintaining a Category 3 crash rescue response during operational hours.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage firefighter personnel.
- Develop and implement training programs for firefighting staff.
- Ensure the operational readiness of firefighting vehicles and equipment.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and maintenance in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Respond to airfield emergencies and hazardous material incidents, exercising command and control as necessary.
- Maintain an inventory of firefighting supplies and materials for spill response.
- Advise on safety regulations and codes for facility modifications.
- Collaborate with other trades to ensure safety protocols are followed during subcontractor operations.
- Participate in fitness training programs and maintain personal fitness standards.

Administrative Duties
- Manage records for Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) of fire safety systems.
- Issue permits for hot work and oversee the maintenance of fire extinguishers.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Contribute to quality management initiatives in line with ISO 9001 standards.

Qualifications
- Proven leadership and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and innovative thinking.
- Experience in firefighting and management within the aviation sector is preferred.

Education and Certifications
- Fire Inspector Level 1 (NFPA)
- Firefighter Level II (NFPA)
- Fire Officer Level III (NFPA 1035)
- Airport Firefighter (NFPA)
- Standard First Aid and CPR 'A'.
- Annual participation in live fire training and medical certifications.

Additional Requirements
- Successful completion of a medical examination and drug screening.
- Proficiency in computer applications and MS Office.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and ability to obtain necessary permits.
