Job Summary

Crombie is seeking a highly skilled Property Accountant to join our team in Nova Scotia. As a key member of our financial management team, you will be responsible for providing financial management on a portfolio of commercial real estate properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and working papers to support quarterly and annual regulatory filings and annual audit.
  • Assist in the preparation of operating and fiscal budgets, and review accounting records to ensure accuracy of reported financial results.
  • Resolve account discrepancies, maintain ledgers, and prepare and post journal entries.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual tenant recoveries, and maintain excellent working relationships with operational field staff and other corporate departments.
  • Coordinate monthly property management meetings and provide accounting advice as required.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with two to five years of related experience in a professional environment, a post-secondary degree in Accounting, and exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with real estate accounting software (CTI or Yardi) is an asset. The successful candidate must be a self-starter who can develop and build relationships internally and externally, and maintain confidential information.
