Job Summary

Crombie is seeking a highly skilled Property Accountant to join our team. As a Property Accountant, you will be responsible for providing financial management on a portfolio of commercial real estate properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and working papers to support regulatory filings and annual audits.
  • Assist in the preparation of operating and fiscal budgets, ensuring accurate financial projections.
  • Review and analyze accounting records to ensure the accuracy of reported financial results.
  • Resolve account discrepancies and maintain ledgers, preparing and posting journal entries as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual tenant recoveries and maintain excellent working relationships with operational field staff and other corporate departments.
  • Coordinate monthly property management meetings and provide accounting advice as required.
  • Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Two to five years of experience in a professional environment with a post-secondary degree in Accounting.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage a complex workload and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience with real estate accounting software (CTI or Yardi) is considered an asset.
  • Superior communication skills, both verbally and written, with the ability to develop and build relationships internally and externally.
  • Commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) responsibilities.
